Thursday, January 12, 2011, the SLHTA’s Events Committee met to discuss the association Calendar of Events for 2012. A very engaging meeting as our social experts discussed, moved and included events best suited for the month and beneficial to our member and wider public of St. Lucia.

Deputy Tourism Director
 The Saint Lucia Tourist Board, the island’s lead agency charged with marketing and promoting the destination, has announced the appointment of veteran events and marketing consultant, Ms. Tracey Warner-Arnold to the position of Deputy Director of Tourism. |
OPSR Meets with SLHTA

Ms. Andrena Simon, Marketing, Advertising & Communications Officer of The Office of Private Sector Relations (OPSR) met with SLHTA’s Board Representatives to discuss the opportunities for funding promotional activities of products and services produced by members of the Association in these respective sub-sectors. The meeting was held on Wednesday January 11th 2012. |

All Hands on Deck

 Saint Lucia’s new tourism minister says renewed emphasis will be placed on tourism, the island’s top foreign exchange earner, so the industry can continue to lead economic development and employment in the nation. “We have a lot of work ahead of us,” he said, calling on all hands to be on deck – both in the public and private sector – to move Saint Lucia forward in today’s highly competitive travel and tourism environment. |
